Rhynoplasty ep brings me back on the techno side of things. Dry as I can possibly get, I felt I needed to release this music after I had played it so often and with such great feedback during my live shows.
During the last months, as I did some final tweaking to the three tracks, I found pretty strange approaching once again this bare and dark sound. Actually it is pretty far away from what I have been currently working on, so that it felt almost mixing someone else’s music. And I love how that feeling helps me out when it’s time to take the final decisions, to end a track or a project.
Also I am particularly in love with this three pieces since they are the first I had produced when I installed myself in the LH studio, so that this music brings me back to that cold winter when I started to define the actual label and studio concept.
My personal favourite is Reptile, I am really proud of the way psychedely and funk get along together, and has really that something that makes me wanna bounce on the dancefloor.
As for the two other, I must say I love how they sound especially after the mastering was able to “glue together” the low range, in particular Re-thought gets pretty close to be a “dj tool”, which is also pretty unusual for my productions.
